Rick Mullin
Iowa Senate District 1
Fourth-generation Iowan Rick Mullin knows that being an advocate for Sioux
City and Iowa involves more than just standing on the sidelines
and watching the action. It means getting and staying involved
on the front line to help make every community a better place
to live, work, play, and raise a family.
For the Mullins, public service is a family tradition. The basic values that
formed Rick's life — honesty, dignity and respect — provide a solid foundation for building on the principles most important to
Iowans and Senate District 1.
Rick works at the family-owned business, Mullin Awning and Siding in Sioux City,
where he serves as president. He has been an Iowa Democratic
Party State Central Committee member since 2004, a member of
the Woodbury County Judicial Magistrate Appointing Commission
since 1996, and has served as president and board member of
the Better Business Bureau of Siouxland as well as on other
boards and committees including the Taxpayers Research Council,
Siouxland Ventures Inc., Crime Stoppers, and the White House
Conference on Small Business.
Rick and his wife, Sue, have two children, Megan and John.
