About Iowa's 5th District

Map of Iowa's congressional districts Iowa's 5th Congressional District (IDP5) encompasses the western third of the state and includes 32 of Iowa's 99 counties.

IDP5's primary goal is to elect a Democrat to represent Iowa's 5th District. The organization also works with county parties on organization, GOTV efforts and party building.

District Central Committee members are elected on even years at County Conventions for a two year period. The committee consists of three members from each county, including the county chair.
